Clock uncertainty

Clock uncertainty. Real clocks jitter and skew, so sign-off reserves a clock-uncertainty guardband before the setup window (the pink band). Required time = period - setup - uncertainty.

• Drag the clock period to the smallest value that still meets timing WITH the uncertainty included. Notice the maximum frequency is lower than the raw path delay alone would suggest - the margin is not free.
