Reading a timing report. Below is a real report_checks path, taken
verbatim from an OpenROAD / OpenSTA run on the ASAP7 predictive PDK (process
design kit) - a register-to-register path from a real place-and-route run.
Read it and answer the questions. Each one needs you to interpret the report, not just copy a line:
- The Path Type tells you whether this is a setup (max) or hold (min) check.
- The data-arrival path ends at "data arrival time"; the data-required path (clock edge, uncertainty, reconvergence pessimism, library setup time) ends at "data required time". Slack = required - arrival, which the tool prints on the last line.
- The clock period is not printed as a number. Infer it: it is the capture clock edge time minus the launch clock edge time.
Answer all three, then Submit answers. Report literacy is most of the day-to-day STA (static timing analysis) job.
