Via enclosure and minimum area. DRC (Design Rule Check) enforces two more geometric rules on this layer, and you fix the geometry until it is clean:
- Via enclosure, Emin = 10 nm. A via is a small cut connecting two metal layers. The metal around it must extend past the cut on every side by at least Emin, so the via still lands on metal when the two layers shift slightly during manufacturing. A via whose metal is too small on any side is under-enclosed. Grow the metal to enclose it.
- Minimum area, Amin = 2000 nm². A shape smaller than Amin cannot be patterned reliably. Enlarge a sliver shape until its area reaches the minimum.
Each shape reports its enclosure or its area; green is legal, red is a violation. Drag a shape's corner handle to grow it about its centre. Fix every violation, then Submit fixes. Dimensions in nanometres.
