Macro orientation and pin access

Floorplanning medium interactive · in-browser

Orient the macros so their pins face what they connect to. Each macro keeps its pins on one edge (the orange bar), and the macros are fixed in place: you click a macro to rotate it, cycling the pin edge N -> E -> S -> W. A pin facing the wrong way forces the wire to wrap around the macro, which blows the net's budget.

Every macro starts with its pins facing up (the wrong way for most), so the nets run long and red.

  • All pins reach their target in budget - rotate each macro until its orange pin bar faces the boundary pin it drives, so the wire runs straight there instead of wrapping around.

Click each macro to rotate it, then Submit design. Shorter total wire scores higher.
