A wireless modem block with two reserved analog regions (hatched red). In a real chip these hold sensitive analog blocks ringed with guard bands, so digital macros must stay clear of both: the RF/ADC keepout for the RF front-end and its data converters, and a separate PLL keepout for the clock generator. Arrange all 15 macros in the space that is left.
- Legality - every macro inside the core, halo apart, and clear of both keepouts (a macro on either one turns red).
- Timing closed - critical nets under budget: the modem_mem to the ADC interface, the fft_core to the DSP bus, the llr0 to the clock, the rf_dma to the DAC, plus the tightly-coupled compute (viterbi, deint).
- No congestion overflow - routing has to thread between the two keepouts, so plan the channels around them.
